For travellers across South Africa
A bed for tonight, supper at the door and a ticket for Saturday. One app.
Lubbie is the South African super app for getting around: book guesthouses and flats, order from local kitchens, buy event tickets and pay at the counter, all from one wallet.

Travellers
Your whole trip, in the order it happens
Whether it’s a work week in Polokwane, a family weekend in Durban or a Cape Town holiday, Lubbie covers the stay, the food and the night out.
- Before you go
Find a place that’s actually free
Search by town, dates and guests. With dates set, Lubbie only shows places free for every night, with the full price — nights, cleaning and fees — up front.
- Before you go
Book without the race
Your nights are held for 15 minutes while you pay, so nobody books them out from under you. Pay from your Lubbie wallet or by card, EFT or Capitec Pay.
- Before you go
Talk to your host
Ask about parking, gate codes or an early check-in in the in-app chat. Your trip, host and dates stay together in Trips.
- When you land
Eat without hunting
Order from local kitchens and follow your driver on a live map to your door. Hand over the 4-digit code on your screen and it’s yours.
- While you’re there
Find something on tonight
Browse events by city or near you and carry your tickets as QR codes. A reminder arrives the day before and a few hours before.
- Everywhere
Pay like a local
At a Lubbie shop, scan the QR at the till and pay from your wallet in one tap. No cash, no card machine, no change.

The Lubbie wallet

Questions
Good to know
Is my money safe in the Lubbie wallet?
Every payment between Lubbie’s services is signed and checked, a payment is only ever charged once, and a wallet can never go below zero. You can withdraw your balance to your own bank account at any time.
What happens if I don’t finish paying for a booking?
Your nights are held for 15 minutes. If the payment doesn’t go through in that time, the nights are released for other guests and you’re not charged.
When do hosts, shops and organisers get paid?
Shops are paid when an order is delivered, hosts when the stay starts, and organisers when the event ends. The money lands in your Lubbie wallet, ready to spend or withdraw.
Can I use Lubbie for customers who pay cash?
Yes. Shops can ring up cash and card sales on the free Lubbie till, and hosts can block nights for guests who booked by phone. Both show up in your reports next to your Lubbie sales.
Where does Lubbie work?
Lubbie was built in Polokwane, Limpopo. Anyone in South Africa can list a place, open a store or publish an event, and travellers can book and pay wherever there are Lubbie sellers.
Do I need a separate app for each service?
No. Food, Stays, Events, electricity and vouchers all open inside the one Lubbie app, with one sign-in and one wallet.
